tryouts!!
*************
To all Players and Parents,
We are very excited to have an opportunity to have Michigan represented in our
Inaugural Event in Milwaukee Wisconsin...
Below is the Schedule for Sunday, Apr. 3rd (only day needed)... Keep in mind,
None of these division are full teams as of yet, registrations are still open, and we will be taking walk-ups...
This is a great opportunity to let teammates, friends, and other soccer enthusiasts know of this opportunity.
This will be a unique tryout (we will be creative in our scrimmage style tryout),
I will be holding a quick meeting before the players step out onto the field.
Please read all the info below...
Thank you for registering for the Michigan State Tryouts this April 3rd @ Soccer Zone (Lansing) Listed below is the Michigan Tryout Schedule. We are still taking registration online!!!
The STATE WARS event is already creating quite a buzz around the country in the early stages of its inaugural season and we are excited to be bringing the event to Wisconsin. Let’s see which state earns the right at STATE WARS to call themselves champions in their age division!
Please keep letting everyone know about trying out. We will continue to accept registrations as well as onsite registrations if spots still remain.
Our staff looks forward to a great tryout weekend in Michigan and we wish all of the players good luck! If you have any questions please contact National Director DAN MAXWELL at
dan@statewarssoccer.com
MICHIGAN TRYOUT SCHEDULE
Sunday April 3rd We are committed to these age groups, we will be accessing the talent, and making sure they are competitive, your commitment is greatly appreciated, registration is still open and spots will need to be filled...
We need your help to let parents/players/coaches/managers know about this unique opportunity.. This is a small tryout, and this is the 1st step in getting Michigan on board for State Wars Soccer.
Boys and Girls:
We will be creative in
matching up lines for scrimmages and splitting them up if needed:
SESSION I
12 pm - 1 pm (1999, 1998, 1997, 1996)
1 pm - 2 pm (2003, 2002, 2001, 2000)
SESSION II
2 pm - 3 pm (1999, 1998, 1997, 1996)
3 pm - 4 pm (2003, 2002, 2001, 2000)
*MANDATORY MEETING AND TEAM NEW JERSEY ANNOUNCEMENTS 4:15 pm off field
Any division that we can not form... Your tryout fee will be refunded with the credit card you used for registration..
Please be reminded that players should attend both
tryout sessions
(there are two 1 hour sessions for each age group). Players are only "required" to attend at least one session,
but it is always in each players best interest to attend both.
WHAT TO BRING TO TRYOUT
We ask that each player brings their own soccer ball to use for warm-ups.
We will supply a ball for scrimmage play.
We will supply a State Wars Soccer tryout jersey to each player at tryouts.
Please bring water or something to drink to keep hydrated during the process.
Indoor turf shoes or flats are permitted. No molded cleats allowed at arena!
TRYOUT PROCESS
We ask that the player attends both tryout sessions in order for our staff to fully evaluate a player. It's for the players benefit. We will do an intro warm-up and then will get right into game play. So be ready from minute one.
PROOF OF AGE & PROOF OF RESIDENCY
All players will have to show proof of age and proof of residency at the Mandatory Player/Parent Meeting if they are selected to the state team. We will not check before tryouts only after teams are selected. See website for details
http://www.pointstreaksites.com/view/statewarssoccer/general-information
SKILLS COMPETITION
In addition to being selected for your state team you also have the chance to be selected for the Skills Competition which is held at the STATE WARS event. We will be selecting for Fastest Runner, Best Penalty Kicker and Top Goalie. This is for extra fun. Selected Players will represent their home State at State Wars in these categories competing against players chosen from other States. All winners will receive prizes. Cost is $20 if selected to participate.
PLAYER FEES
Each player that is selected to their state team will receive home & away custom State Jersey's, custom State Wars Soccer shorts and home & away socks. Since we will be ordering uniforms for the entire state we need to make sure we collect everyone's player fee of $175 at the time of the Mandatory Player/Parent Meeting to insure that all players are fully registered for this spectacular event. Checks, money orders and cash are accepted and can be made out to State Wars Soccer. All details and questions will be discussed at the meeting.
WHAT TO DO NOW
Encourage your son or daughter to do their best and to give 100% at all times. Don't stress them out or get them too worked up. Just love them. If a player does not make their state team this year don't be upset with them as long as they did their best. Not every player makes a team, gets the job they want, or drives the car they like and tryouts are no different. We all learn a lot through things like this but the most important thing a child can learn is that their parents love them. Thanks for trying out for your state team and we wish you all the best.
Thanks,
Tim McManus

| State
Wars: The United States Indoor
Soccer Championships |
Since
the State Wars program began in 2005,
our goal has been simple, to bring the
sports world the most fun and
organzied events in the world.
We feel we have accomplished that in
the roller hockey world and are now
expanding to bring the same incredible
State Wars experience to the world of
indoor soccer. Word of mouth has
always been our biggest ally, so we
ask everyone to please pass this
newsletter and info on to all of your
friends that play soccer. This
will be an incredible first year event
and we are very excited to WOW a new
sport!
Well yes the World Cup may have ended
but the most exciting NEW event in the
sport of soccer is just around the
corner...STATE WARS. For the
first time EVER players will be given
the chance to represent their home
state in a National tournament that
will bring teams from all 50 states to
one location, with the goal of
crowning one true National Champion in
each birth year division.
State Wars Soccer will take place June
20-July 3 at the beautiful, indoor,
air conditioned Uihlein Soccer Park in
Milwaukee Wisconsin. Uihlein
houses 3 full sized boarded indoor
fields and is the ideal location to
bring teams from all corners of the
United States.
At State Wars, players may ONLY play
for their home state and each player
must attend a state tryout and be
selected by an unbiased selection
committee to represent their state.
Those selected will be outfitted in
custom State uniforms and will have
the chance to represent their home
state and play for pride & honor.
These state teams will NOT replace
your local club or travel teams, these
select teams will only have a
commitment to play at State Wars next
June.
State Wars Soccer is currently booking
state tryouts all over the country, if
you'd like to suggest a great facility
or location in your home state please
let us know. State Tryouts will
run from January through March in
2011, players selected will play at
State Wars during a specific 3-4 day
block of the event. Please check
out our website at www.statewarssoccer.com
You may also email Dan Maxwell at dan@statewarssoccer.com
for specific questions. Player
registration will open online on
October 1st, and space will be limited
per division as only a maximum of 50
field players and 10 goalkeepers will
be accepted to each tryout per birth
year division. Therefore if you
plan on attending, make sure you
register immediately once registration
has begun!

| What
is State Wars??? |
State
Wars is simply unlike ANY soccer
tournament you have ever been a part of.
The sole focus of this event is to cater
to the players and the future growth of

the opportunity to play teams from
California, Texas, or Wisconsin?
State Wars is more than just a soccer
tournament it is an experience.
Please check out our website at www.statewarssoccer.com
and drop us a note with any questions you
may have, we would love to hear from you.

been running incredible National hockey
events. This past years hockey event
had 267 teams from 28 different states
participating. This event is
considered by many to be the greatest
hockey event in the World!
We have joined forces with some great
soccer minds from the west coast to bring
